Hello Everyone, I'm Back!

Hi everyone,

It's me, Bonita.
I'm back on blogging again (well slowly getting back in the habit), and would like to catch up on my life updates since the last time I posted something (whoa, 2 years).

Let's break it down some (don't want to go aaalllll in that would be forever, lol):
  1.  I've sacrificed a lot to be last year
  2.  I had my Welded Magnolia in the Jacksonville Zoo "Zoo of Lights" permanent collection.
  3. Had my 8foot by 4foot Woodcut Print Relief displayed at the MOCA Jacksonville.
  4. Went to Art Basel Miami 2017 for the first time (hopefully I can go back again)
  5. one of my Best Friends (my ride and die) got Married and I got be her Maid of Honor.
  6. Ended up on Spring 2018 A/B honors roll and my last semester with a President A honors roll.
  7. Graduated with my Bachelors in Fine Arts degree from University of North Florida (finally!!)
  8. Still work working for the bookstore
    1. Went from working at the law school bookstore.
    2.  ended up having a new manager (who is awesome, she's one of my good friends/older sister/cousin).
    3.  we both had to close the store because we both got promoted to a new store (1 hr and 30 mins away) to open as well  I got promoted to an actual team lead.
    4.  I left there to be transferred to a different store back in September to be  more near my university as well for traffic/travel for my last semester at UNF
    5. Now I currently work at the same location with the same title
    6. I ended applying for something pretty cool even though I would like to go somewhere else but this a good start/step for me.
  9. I've interned for Wolfson Children Hospital for the Art with a Heart program there ( making art with kids who are patients at the hospital). I had so much fun and loved it so....
  10. After giving my Senior Presentation to the entire Art department aka my professors, They would love for me to continue making art on my own as well take a couple years off before going to Graduate school.
  11. I already have in my what I would like to go for grad school for: Art in Medicine at UF (basically what I interned for but in Jax) however I would work with all ages from kids to elders. I could also go for Art therapy, however every graduate schools are different.
    1. I would like to either work with patients in the hospitals/nursing homes/rehab centers.
    2.  As well work with kids at school
    3. or have a family practice
    4. basically i would like to with everyone and help them through art, as it helped me.
  12. Now that I am out of school and just working part-time, I wanted to make time to reeducate my self from k-12 subjects so I don't ever forget them. Now and days, I feel a bit off about how much math or grammar I remember, as well vocabulary, science, and history.
    1. I already looked in to Khan Academy to check that out, haven't started, but can't wait to relearn some things.
    2. I have no shame to say that, plus I'm already dyslexic my self, so this is more to improve myself more.
    3. my dyslexia will never go away, however I learned from my research for my art work I made for my senior project, You may never get rid of it but you can always improve yourself by finding what works best for you.
  13. Last thing is I'm going to try to vlog my YouTube again.
    1. links should be on the side but don't worry I'm going to give this blog site an update as well.
All righty, I know its a long read but we are all caught up (well the most important stuff), so I will be posting more things. Follow me (if you like) to see what more I will post, oh don't forget to follow any of my other social media too ( all links are on the side,if you want to).

Have a great day,

Bonita xoxo

Another Comeback

So working at the bookstore (again) isn't that bad, at least I got job to be working at instead having to look for job while needing a way of payment to pay bills. I just felt blessed that they welcomed me back especially since they are in need of anyone who knows how they work.
Since I couldn't get to take the Summer B (our summer term is divided by 3 parts: Summer A is May to June, Summer B is July to August, and Summer C is May to August), so for now I'm taking a break till Fall term starts and just work right now. I can't wait till Fall term starts, you have no idea, I will be taking 3D design and Intro to Printmaking. I can't wait to learn about the media and see what I could do with them and what style I'm leaning towards. I want to learn many ways of Art mediums and see since I cant make it my own. Charcoal is still getting adjust to yet its my favorite for more control my patients.
Meantime, with the pay I'm is not the same as my other pervious jobs saving money is going to an extra challenge. Doesn't mean I'll give up nope, this is what I call another Comeback. For now I'm just working and focusing in finishing college for my BFA in PDP. I made a pin point idea of when I will finish and finally graduate: Between Summer 2018 to Spring 2019. I know right Crazy how its that long I could of gotten a Doctorates Degree by then. ( I'm still debating about going for my Master and Doc).

Well Everything Happens for a Reason

This weekend went down the steep mountain cliff to climbing back up a different mountain. Luckily, I still focusing in my art and even when crisis hits, art always help coup me as well listening to music and having close friends to be there to support you. So that new job was not happening, apparently being a part-time doesn't really fit for the company, yup I had to leave. However, it would of been different if I was a fulltime because it was more easier to train me and prepare me for the busiest season of logistics, but I just told them I could do part-time and that after a couple of years of college I would be happy to become a full-time. During my training, it wasn't that I had  hard time understanding, it was that I was getting a proper training. When you train some one you have a handbook about what you are going to do, and the person must be full on training you and not get distracted on other things unless its work related. I'm not saying the company done a horrible job training me, it just I wasn't really structured, it was just shadowing the person and do it yourself and they expect you to do it all on your own with out a screw up. I could go on but I think I made the main point across.
Well I thought the world as over for me and it feels like a relationship that started and ended in a month, it happen so fast but it suddenly came to an end. It's okay, I did have a down for the rest of day even in my ceramic class. I couldn't focus on making my slab work on the salt and pepper shakers with a resting bowl. During the time, after I told my mom the news, I was texting and messaging my close friends about what had happened and I didn't know what to do. I thank God everyday for these friends that I have because without them, I would be super alone to where I could careless about anything happening around me just trying to survive the world. Anyways, my friends suggested me to go back to my old job, UNF Bookstore: I really liked this job, I even wanted to continue to work there but Aeropostale hours wouldn't let me. Moreover, I went in the next morning to ask about rehiring me especially after what happen it was during the time of I need to pay my class, payments, and bills. They said yes, I was already still in the system that even my name tag was still in the office where my friends and I left it during our little ceremony we did for me leaving. Well I got so excited and blessed that I got a job, I could work at after what had happened the day before.
During this time, I wished I could of talked to this certain friend, I known for 2 years but I don't know if we kind of ended our friendship or it was temporary or it was pause in our life before we could one day reunited again. This friend was kind of like my change in life, I wanted to show that I can be a better person and I'm growing up. Well, on the bright side I really working hard on my ceramic class that if you follow my Instagram/Facebook page you can see some photos I took of my work in progress. I am more excited to continue my art major that I cant wait for Fall semester. I don't even know if I will ever get another job or get promoted along the way but my degree if more important and I finally feeling like I'm getting closer to be graduating after all these years of complications (Oh follow me on LinkedIn). In the meantime I will just focus on my art and working my butt off, and not get anything to distract me. I even noticing that I am becoming a little different with the social circle, like I had my crazy fun times but now it like I don't mind having a fun time but just getting with friends and talk is just nice. I'm only 24 years old now soon to be 25 in Dec, but I feel like already 30+ haha jk.
Well I will soon have time to write more post, maybe just maybe a video too, but just don't forget to follow me to keep up with what is going on in my life.

A's with a new job but NO BF

Okay so I know its been awhile since I posted a blog, but guess what? just guess.......
I got 2 A's on my Spring term: Art history online and Drawing II.
OMG!!!!!
I'm so excited that I got an A, I mean two A's.
My GPA is going up so hopefully by Spring 2017 my GPA is 2.0something so I can be back in the non academic probation.

So I left my job at Aeropostale, for more of a personal reason that its really hard to talk about on here. I gone through a lot there and I had some good times with my associates, but I wasn't really felt welcome there. It was really hard to talk about what I went through. I know I'm suppose to talk about my life on here but this is one where I'm going to keep to myself to be a bit professional about it.

I now work at a logistics company and no joke I have no clue about logistics, but I'm learning a lot about it. This company is so amazing very small and super chill, I already meet the owner, he was so nice and got all of us lunch. it was even funnier because I ended parking next to him in the parking lot too. He knocked on my window and was like "hey do you remember me? oh by the way I'm the owner haha. its all good its nice to meet you. haha." Well that's how I met the owner of the company I work at now. I even helped with a 5k run we are doing to show support to the community.

School wise, I'm taking ceramic now for my Summer class and I starting to understand that I need to work on my patients for it.(Haha) Like I was having a hard time centering the clay on the wheel thrower, but I will get it down for sure I already kind a got two bowls made. I'm excited to make a little pottery collection of my ceramics from class. A few might not be useful for eating/drinking, but atleast it can be displayed or used has a key/jewelry holder or a pencil holder.

Well another update in my life beside I am half way of being 25 years old. I still trying to manage my savings, trying to improve my health and lifestyle. I even staying to get better in my beauty and clothes wear, I got step up my routine you know.
Love life???? well I don't even know why getting in a relationship is so hard but for other people its like nothing, like yea I want a boyfriend like an actual boyfriend and go through the up and downs, even to possible manage, but no matter what some guys are just weak and thinks some girls are a toy. Well I'm over that, I even thought I was going somewhere this one person but turns not nothing, it weird yet I feel like its couple of things that is my fault but why though.
Anyways friends wise, I like hanging out once in awhile with friends either grabbing drinks at the bars or hangout and eat sushi.

Overall, I think I'm starting to mature a little but still enjoying life at the same time I just have to find a way to balance it. Sorry for the delays on the posting I promise I going to try better. Oh, and vlogs are probably not happening but I will try to do videos for YouTube.

How are you doing?
Are you starting a new job? School? etc....

Update in my Life: Almost 24years old

Hello its been so long since I last posted about my update in life.
if you haven't read it go back to my posts to catch up, meantime here's a rundown of what happened:
  • Deciding between Majors
    • I ended up getting accept in Art Major: Drawing, Painting, and Print Making Major of the Fine Arts here in UNF ( University of North Florida in Jacksonville, Florida)
    • I'm currently taking 2D design class and Art History part 1 (yes, I'm taking only 2 classes. I'm use to taking 4 classes since I started college, but for the Art major and due to my Suspension (I am required to take 2 classes every semester, make a B grade average or higher to continue the UNF, and my Job is taking up to many hours of my week)
  • Getting a Job
    • I got a job in retail so going from Sales associate of the UNF Bookstore, I'm now a Sales Lead Manager of Aèropostale.
    • I like my job however its way to many hours of my week that its hard for me (personally) to keep up with my Art. I work 30 hours a week which is not bad but try to work on your art projects that require atleast 5-10hours of your time to perfect it.
I am happy that I got the opportunity to have this job and getting accept in the Art program when I've been suspended from UNF, its just I'm almost 24 years old I barely get a chance to enjoy myself with friends and have a relationship with a guy (still kinda single, just unsure where I'm at with this one guy I've been talking too) anyways my biggest decision is should I stay with my job or find another job even if its another part time to allow me to spend more time in my Art projects.
I thought of this one job that I got a call back from thou I already got the job I have now. Its one of those 8am-5pm jobs, and the guy who as a manger really wanted me to work there even as a Student. I don't know if I want to move on to that job, I already got my next semester classes set and I could still work there if they allow, however later I would have to take night classes for the rest of my classes to be finish with my degree.
Now about my major, I'm doing okay with my Art History class, but with my 2D is a struggle due to not spending time on working patiently with my projects, its all rushed and ugly.
I'll let y'all know about the how I'm doing again in 2 weeks (end of the semester) to see if I stay in the Art program or not.

Have you been in a similar problem? How did you get through it? What is your advice? What do you think I should do?
Answer the questions don below in the comments, I'll try to respond back :)
Thanks for reading.

Final Decision part 2 and an Mini Update

If you have read my last post on (Oh Decision Making This Major or That )
well I made my decision which would be either shocking for you or kind of knew this was coming.... I decided to be in the..... Art Major!!!!!!
I'm so excited yet little nervous because its a very huge change in my studies and how my life will become.
Oh an update with my job, I'm now a Sale Lead at my store aka the 4th Manager. I like my work just there's so much responsibility and can not skew it up, its retail so I have to multitask my manger duty, helping with clothes, keeping up with my associates, and helping costumers with whatever they need. If anyone ever in a job in their life I recommend working in either Restaurants and/or Retail, both teaches you about costumers services and same-time see how people act if your into people behavior especially when out in public. Trust me I had to deal with the worst now because I'm also Manger and if I'm the only one that's on duty (OMG) the its just insane. I rather be an associate that calls the manger over than being the manger dealing the dumb problems. LOL
Back to my new Art Major the classes I'll be taking this Fall Semester are: 2-D design and Art History 1, only taking two classes because of my manger hours at work (25-30hrs a week). I can't to purchase my Art History book and buy my art supplies for my 2-D design class, I wonder how its going to balance out with work, classes, and my own little social life. With my disability this is going to be an interesting challenge that I am go to go through, instead of textbooks and papers I am making Art. Its not difficult its just a huge change in "study habits"; I do know I'm going to be challenge with my creative imagination to make a piece of art work.
Now that I have everything set and ready, I have to create a Time-Managing schedule for myself in order to have time for my own social life because I want to have dinner and/or go out for drinks with friends as well be able to go to events like art show, music festival, concert, or a road trip to wherever. Lets not forget even down time for my self to refresh my mind and soul, especially if I ever get asked on a date by a guy, he'll like the fact I have my own life but I can make time for us to go on a date or even stay in for the night. Well that's if I was dating, I'm still single (unless otherwise because that's a whole other confusion I don't understand about this guy lol).
Meantime now I'm just trying to work,  get with friends when we can, and trying to relax my mind because in the 24th of Aug, is my First day back to school after not being in school for 8months.
also figuring out about myself, trying to understand the meaning of music I listen too, trying to make  little time to read the favorite classics. I'll be 24yrs old soon (in Dec 23rd) and I want to make sure I at least have this far of my together, be mature and still enjoy the fun.

so what's your update in life?
Are an Art Student? or Majored in Art?
What's it like being in Art?
What Major are you in or What Major did you earn?
Any Advice?

Oh the Decision Making: This Major or That Major

So as I mentioned in my pervious post (My Very Long Spring Break, if you haven't read it yet) anyways, I have some huge decision making (again) on what Bachelor would be: Fine Arts in Painting, Drawing, and Print Making degree or Supervision and Management degree.
I had asked my friends what they think and its both half and half vote, so I decided which really would be best for me as in what would say "I used what would be the most comfortable, excited to learn more of, and no matter what I learned to use critical thinking that would help me improve and use as I get older."
After I had the talk with my favorite Career Counselor when I was told Art would be best for me, I would stress less on papers and could use that stress to express in my art work. Unlike my management class I would learn nothing but business laws and how to mange. Now I did ask a few very few close people who's opinions matter the most beside family; it's mostly because either I grew up with them and/or we've been friends for short/long period of time, but still knew me very very well. Since Dance major was not an option (I wish ha ha), Art was chosen over Management because I'm more creative than serious (ha ha "Why so Serious?")
Now another decision is on: How would it take me to finish either degree?, How much would it cost for classes with/without finical aid?.
Depending on how many classes I take per semester, for Management: 1 1/2 to 2years; Art: 3yrs to more.  As for Art, I would have to take at least 2 classes per semester till my GPA goes up, till the Chairman's of Art department see that I am ready for the regular 4 classes a semester, and/or that my new upcoming job (for right now its my second job until my Training is over, oh yea I forgot to mention, I was asked and so I applied for Assistant Manger for Aeropostale at the local mall near my house. They have me in training as Merchandise Flow and better pay till I got the understanding of the Store, I learned a lot from my current job at the UNF Bookstore doing almost every positions in there and can't wait to move and learn more yet have a position a normal 23 year old would have), in which I would have to take a while because I will soon be having 30+ hours of work and the class for art are around 2-4hrs long, unlike management would mostly be online or hybrid (in-class lecture/presentation and mostly the class work/discussion online.  Also I could take my perquisites classes for Art at the local State/Community college than later transfer the credits back to UNF, or just take all my management class at the local State/Community college. its also a lot more closer (in a way) from my house and new work than UNF commute.
Now with the Career choice, I have no idea what I would really want to be, plus the whole you have to go for a job based on your major is myth, I found most people taken many Major of different kind from their college days than later went to take their MBA (Master degree) in what would be mostly best comfort or required for a job position/even just because they want to go for something else they want to go for.
I figure since the Highest I would go for in college is Master, even my mom is okay with that, she understand my frustrations in school in general is high and support my decision as long I get my bachelor.
At this point you might be wonder, "What major did you decided on?

I have decided on .........

Comment down below if you had to go through the same decision making, if so, on what major?
What major do think I should choose? or What do you think I will go for?
What was your college experience like especially during the decision making? how did you decided?and What's your major/What major are you going for?
I would really like to know your experience.
